Tough Bait--Mullet!
Striped mullet are excellent bait fish, cut up or whole, depending on the type of fish you want to catch. They are excellent fish to be smoked, fried, or baked. Its roe is prized for a pan-sauteed delicacy.

This fish finds its source of food by scooping up mouthfuls of mud. Tiny plant life, in the mud, is digested as the mud passes thru its gut passages. They also feed on other vegetation suitable to their needs.

The best way to catch them is by cast net. Other alternatives are by snatch hooking them. Attach a large three prong hook on your line, cast into a school of mullet and pull back sharply.

Bingo! This usually results in snagging one.
