Run the leader and first part of the line thru your thumb and finger to feel for any rough surfaces; the leader can take a lot of punishment before replacing, but the line should be replaced immediately if the surface is rough.When you are done fishing, spray the line on the reel with fresh water to remove any salt, dirt or fish slime. Avoid stepping on your line and allowing it to get caught on the boat or motor, as the line may become damaged. Be sure all knots are secure. This may be the difference between getting or losing a fish. |
