A Man With a Vision - page1He has made the rounds through high school, private college, vocational rehabilitation counselor, and state supervisor of vocational programs for special needs students. He served as a state vocational education coordinator and an area vocational director in four different area school settings. His motivation has led to innovative programs that help students succeed. He is the director of two Florida vocational schools and has a strong affection for community needs. He has received the highest award given by the American Vocational Association, The Humanitarian Award. The Florida Vocational Association presented him with the Carl Proel Award recognizing him as an outstanding vocational administrator. As time marched on the inevitable happened. Exploring the realm of possibilities, students took the bull by the horns and took off with Dr. Cassity. He has seen many changes in education, but one thing has been constant; preparing the student with the skills required by industry employers. Students are matched with employers from the beginning of their programs and know what is expected from them when they go to work for the companies. The mission is the same, how it is accomplished may be somewhat different today than it was in the beginning. Many years ago Dr. Cassity's philosophy was illustrated by a graphic presentation of his educational ladder into the future. Click on Dr. Clide Cassity page2 to see this picture. |
