Bottle Nose Dolphin Positioning, location and finding of any object especially food is scientifically accomplished through echolocation, the highway and byways of a dolphin. 
This sonar system of the bottle nose is created by sound emitting from an area
below and in front of its blow hole. Pinpointing targets is as simple as putting your finger
on the fruit of your choice in a pile of oranges. Learning and doing becomes simpler as the years go
by; the bottle nose dolphin's life span is over 45 years.Do you remember Flipper? Having a large brain relative to their size, and years of social behavior with their kind have definitely created a mammal with an unusual amount of reasoning power. It is still the most familiar and intensely studied dolphin in the world. It usually has the starring role in dolphin shows at most marine aquarium attractions. At times they become sulky and temperamental if their trainer pulls a boo-boo resulting in poor performance. The bottle nose dolphin will be kept interested and happy with challenging tasks. It's difficult to keep dolphins docile and quiet as they are used to swimming and reaching speeds of 25 miles per hour or more during playtimes. How did you like those apples? Nothing but phraseology can describe what a dolphin eats: Fish, squid, crabs, shrimp, and worms. As smart as they are it would not surprise me to imagine a group of them discussing their latest meal of squid with a burp, belch, and comment, "How did you like those squid"? One of the most interesting sights is to watch them herd a school of mullet into shallow water and do some "fish whacking." They whack them with a powerful swipe of their tail and knock them out of the water in a stunned condition. They then proceed to have their meal in a leisurely manner from the fish floating on the surface. They are mammals that care for their young as humans do. They keep them in sight, feed them milk when hungry until weaned to eat fresh food from the ocean locker. It's a beautiful sight to see the mother and offspring swimming side-by-side and the baby covetously protected by the mother. Hats off to a dolphin that is so richly
endowed with eons of experience handed down by its ancient descendants.
